BREAKING NEWS: The Vatican announced today that on August 27th,
Pope Francis formed a special commission to reform the canonical process
of marriage.
"The work of the Special Commission will begin as soon as possible and will have as its goal
to prepare a proposal of reform for the matrimonial process, it will
seek to simplify the process, making it more streamlined and
safeguarding the indissolubility of marriage."
The Holy Father
has appointed Mons. Pio Vito Pinto, Dean of the Tribunal of the Roman
Rota, along with several members from the Pontifical Council for
Legislative Texts, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith as
well as Mons. Dimitrios Salachas, the Apostolic Exarch of the Greek
Byzantine Catholic Church.
